Rockets Return to Links on Sunday in Georgia

TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo men's golf team will return from a two-week break when it opens play at the three-day Linger Longer Invitational in Eatonton, Ga. The tournament will be held at the par-72, 7,436-yard Great Waters Golf Course with live scoring available on Golfstat.com
 
The Rockets are competing against a strong field that includes multiple top-tier programs, including five teams ranked in GolfStat's Top 25 and four more in the Top 50. Leading the way is No. 4 North Carolina followed by No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 10 Georgia, No. 19 Florida, No. 22 Clemson, No. 26 Alabama, No. 31 South Florida, No. 40 Virginia and No. 42 Charlotte. The field will be rounded out by Augusta, Chattanooga, Kennesaw State, Mercer, and UNC-Greensboro.
 
Toledo's lineup will consist of sophomore Barend Botha (71.2 stroke average) at No. 1, senior Lukas Clark (72.2) at No. 2, sophomore Jamie Tofte Nielsen (72.5) at No. 3, junior NJ Botha (72.9) at No. 4, and senior David Amm (74.5) at No. 5.
 
Barend Botha shot a three-under par 213 (74-70-69) and tied for ninth place at last year's Linger Longer Invitational. He and Clark each shot even-par the last time out to lead the Rockets to an eighth-place finish at the Coral Creek Club Invitational.
