KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Junior Pawit Sornlaksup won the Flight 1 Singles bracket with a 3-0 record at the Mid-American Conference Indoors tournament Sunday afternoon on the campus of Western Michigan University.

"We had some bright spots this weekend, especially in singles including several very tight match wins," head coach Al Wermer said. "Finishing strong on Sunday was great, highlighted by Pawit's championship. With that being said we are obsessed with the process here and we have a long way to go,"

One match stood in the way of Sornlaksup claiming the crown of the Flight 1 Singles bracket, and he was successful in a two-set sweep over Buffalo's Simon Wibler. Sornlaksup has not lost a conference singles match in 12 months and has won 15-straight MAC singles matches since last March.

Seniors Marko Galic and Krzysztof Wetoszka each won their final matches of the tournament in the Flight 2 Singles, both in two sets. Galic took down Binghamton's Michael Pawlowicsz and Wetoszka defeated Northern Illinois' Iker Arrastia.

Freshman Matias Olivero finished third in the Flight 3 Singles bracket after defeating Western Michigan's Brogan Pierce in two sets.

Juniors Adam Kovac and Vlad Meluta lost their final matches of the tournament. Kovac fell in two sets to Ball State's Vince Orlando in the Flight 3 singles, while Meluta lost in three sets in the Flight 6 Singles to NIU's Christopher Knutson.

Several Rockets have entered the ITF M15 Futures tournament in East Lansing, Mich. that begins Sunday, Nov. 13
