TOLEDO, Ohio – One of the great rivalries in college football resumes when Toledo plays host to Bowling Green in the Battle of I-75 on Tuesday, Nov. 15 (7:00 p.m./ESPNU).
Toledo (7-3, 5-1 MAC) enters the game having already clinched a share of the MAC West Division title and a trip to the MAC Championship Game in Detroit on Dec. 3. The Rockets secured their trip to Ford Field thanks to a 28-21 victory over Ball State on Nov. 8 and a loss by Western Michigan a day later.
The Rockets hold a slim 42-40-4 advantage in the series with Bowling Green, though they have won 11 of the last 12 meetings. Toledo won at Bowling Green last year, 49-17, and have not lost at home to their arch-rivals since 2008, a string of six games.
In the Ball State win, sophomore quarterback
Dequan Finn threw for three touchdowns, including the game-winner with 1:18 left. Safety
Maxen Hook sealed the victory with an interception in the waning seconds of the contest.
Finn, who missed the previous game due to an injury, completed 21-of-38 passes for 301 yards. He also threw TD passes to
Jerjuan Newton and
Devin Maddox in the first half. Newton led the Rockets with a career-high seven receptions for 94 yards.
Micah Kelly paced the running attack with a career-high 85 yards.
Bowling Green (5-5, 4-2 MAC) fell out of a first-place tie in the MAC East following a 40-6 loss to Kent State on Nov. 9. The Falcons had won three straight games going into the contest.

   • The victory over Ball State Toledo moves to 5-1 in MAC play and clinched a share of the West Division crown. The Rockets guaranteed themselves a spot in the MAC Championship Game due to its potential tie-breaker victories over CMU, EMU and Ball State.Â
   • Toledo has now won or shared 12 MAC West Division crowns. This will be Toledo's seventh appearance in the MAC Championship Game and first since 2017. Toledo is 3-3 all-time in the MCG.
   • Toledo is bowl eligible for the 13th consecutive season, the longest streak in the MAC.
   • Toledo held Ball State to 281 yards of total offense, including just 94 yards passing. It was the fifth time this season that the Rockets held their opponents to under 100 yards of passing offense.
