TOLEDO, Ohio – The division leaders of the Mid-American Conference will square off in a showdown when Toledo (5-2, 3-0 MAC) travels to Buffalo (4-3, 3-0 MAC) on Saturday, Oct. 22 (1:00 p.m. ET/
ESPN+).
The Rockets are all alone in first place of the MAC West Division following consecutive decisive victories over Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and Kent State by an average of 20.7 points per contest. Buffalo has wins over Eastern Michigan, Miami and Bowling Green.
Saturday's 52-31 Rocket victory over the Golden Flashes at the Glass Bowl featured a performance for the ages by sophomore quarterback
Dequan Finn. Finn threw a career-best six touchdown passes to rally Toledo from a 21-point deficit. His six TD passes tied a school record. Finn also rushed for a score, which set a Toledo record for seven touchdowns accounted for in one game.
Toledo trailed 21-0 just five minutes into the contest and proceeded to outscore Kent State 52-10 the rest of the way. The 21-point comeback ties for the third-largest comeback in school history.
Finn, who completed 16-of-22 passes for 263 yards vs. KSU, ranks second in the MAC in passing efficiency (157.57).
Buffalo's strength is its defense. The Bulls rank second in the MAC in points allowed with 24.4, just a hair behind Miami's 24.0 mark. Junior linebacker Shaun Dolac is second in the MAC with 73 tackles. Junior quarterback Cole Snyder paces the offense with 1662 yards passing and 11 TD throws.

Jason Candle picked up his 50th career win in Toledo's victory over Kent State. Candle moves into a tie for third place on Toledo's all-time list with Dan Simrell (50 wins from 1982-89). Gary Pinkel is Toledo's all-time leader with 73 wins from 1991-2000.
• Toledo's 21-point comeback win over KSU ties for the third-largest comeback in school history. The largest is a 24-point turnaround in a 32-31 win over Western Carolina in 1975.

Dequan Finn was named MAC West Division Offensive Player of the Week following hsi performance vs. Kent State. He tied the school record with six touchdown passes which is also tied for the most by an FBS quarterback this season. He is the first quarterback in school history to account for at least seven touchdowns (six passing, one rushing) in a game. He also did not commit a turnover.
• Toledo's offense ranks first in the MAC in scoring (38.4), second in rushing (193.3) and passing efficiency (154.55) and fourth in total offense (402.4).
• Toledo's defense ranks second in the MAC in total defense (358.8) and third in points allowed (26.3). The Rockets lead the MAC in passing yards allowed (194.4) and defensive passing efficiency (118.16).
• Rocket legend and 2022 College Football Hall of Fame inductee Chuck Ealey will join Brent Balbinot in the radio booth as an analyst for the Buffalo game. Ealey was 35-0 as a quarterback and led Toledo to three consecutive MAC titles in 1969, 1970 and 1971. He later played for seven seasons in the Canadian Football League, leading Hamilton to a Grey Cup title in his rookie season of 1972.
