YPSILANTI, Mich. – The University of Toledo women's swimming and diving team concluded its weekend at the 2021 MAC Championships and placed two swimmers on All-MAC teams. Sophomores Jovana Duric and Kennedy Lovell were named second-team all-conference.

The Rockets finished in 7^th at the MAC Championships with 262 total points.

"I'm incredibly proud of the dedication of the team this year," head coach Brie Globig said. "Navigating a new season set up during this challenging COVID year was no small feat. The team jumped on board with our new season plan and stayed focused. Their success is entirely due to their positive attitudes and strong belief in each other."

Duric earned points in two events over the weekend, including a second-place finish in the 1650 freestyle on Saturday, touching the wall at 16:33.01. On Thursday, she placed sixth in the 500 freestyle (4:54.73). Lovell contributed points in three individual events, advancing to the finals in one event each day. On Saturday she finished ninth in the 100 freestyle (50.33) with a personal-best time after finishing fifth in the 200 freestyle on Friday (1:48.70) and 10^th in the 50 freestyle on Thursday (23.17).

Duric and Lovell were two of eight Rockets to compete in finals heats on Saturday. Sophomore Lisa Lohner (10^th, 17:03.70, personal best) and junior Samantha Ekleberry (19^th, 17:30.97) both participated in the 1650 freestyle. Senior Gracie Storm advanced to the B finals in the 200 backstroke, putting up a time of 2:04.15 in that event. Lovell was joined by senior Lisa Eriksson as a participant in the B finals of the 100 freestyle, with Eriksson registering a time of 51.46. Sophomore Lauren Kilgore (2:18.72) and freshman Sydney Conrad (2:01.69) earned spots in the B finals of the 200 breaststroke and 200 butterfly, respectively, recording personal-best times in those events.

Toledo ended its stay at the MAC Championships with a strong performance in the 400 freestyle relay. Lovell, Kilgore, Conrad, and Eriksson combined for a time of 3:21.82 to finish in fourth place.
