TOLEDO, Ohio - University of Toledo Head Women's Golf CoachÂ
Jenny Coluccio announced the signing ofÂ
Reese Jansa (Sioux Falls, S.D.)Â to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. Lee will begin attending the University of Toledo beginning in the 2022-23 academic year.
Jansa enjoyed a decorated prep career at Harrisburg High School beginning as an eighth-grader on the women's golf team. She won the 2021 state tournament by 11 strokes with a record score of eight-under par 134 (66-68). Her record performance topped LPGA golfer Kim Kaufman's seven-under total in 2008. She also placed third at the South Dakota State Amateur this summer in both stroke play (73-74-77) and match play.
Â
"We are thrilled to have Reese join the Toledo women's golf family," Coluccio said. "She is a dynamic player with a wealth of experience. Her distance and ability to score regardless of the playing conditions are without question her greatest physical strengths. However, the joy she has while playing and practicing the game are what make her a truly dynamic competitor. "
Â
Jansa has also excelled in the classroom and participated in the Sanford Promise Teen Science Café, a hands-on activity that was led by students discussing the future of DNA and Genomics Sequencing.
"Reese is a wonderful person and an all-around team player. She's a leader on and off the course through her involvement in organizations and mentoring her younger teammates. Her association with The First Tee of South Dakota has cultivated tools she needs to succeed on the course, in the classroom, and beyond."
