Senior Nate Thomson and the Rockets will open their season at the Sea Best Invitational.

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's golf program opens its 2021 season next week with a trip to the Sunshine State for Jacksonville University's Sea Best Invitational. The tournament will be held on Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 1-2 at the TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Thirty-six holes will be played on Monday followed by the final round on Tuesday.

Competing for the Rockets will be senior Nate Thomson, junior David Amm, junior Wooyoung Choi, sophomore NJ Botha, freshman Barend Botha and freshman Jamie Tofte Nielsen.

Thomson paced Toledo with a 74.3 stroke average last year, while Amm posted a 75.0 scoring mark. NJ Botha competed in just one tournament as a freshman.

Choi will be playing in his first tournament as a Rocket after notching a 74.5 average in 23 rounds over the last two years at New Mexico. Barend Botha and Nielsen are making their collegiate golf debuts.

Joining Toledo in the field will be Campbell, Charlotte, College of Charleston, Duke, FGCU, Florida, Liberty, Lipscomb, McNeese State, N.C. State, Toledo, North Florida, USC Upstate and the host Dolphins.
