Rocket Football to Partner With Branding Specialist Jeremy Darlow

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo Football program announced a partnership with author and branding specialist Jeremy Darlow that will help Rocket student-athletes build personal brands that will set them up to succeed in life beyond their playing careers.
 
"Jeremy Darlow has become one of the preeminent voices on brand building in college athletics. We are excited to partner with Jeremy in an effort to equip our student-athletes with valuable knowledge that can enhance their experience while attending the University of Toledo and for many years thereafter," said Head Coach Jason Candle. "Through our partnership with Jeremy, it is our goal to educate our student-athletes on the best practices and methods to enhance their own brands, and take advantage of the forthcoming Name, Image and Likeness changes from the NCAA."
 
Darlow, the three-time best-selling author of Brands Win Championships, Athletes Are Brands Too, and The Darlow Rules, is a former director of marketing for adidas football and baseball. He will begin educating Toledo football players through weekly video lessons. This step-by-step course will help student-athletes build their influence, beat the odds and leverage their athletic accomplishments well beyond sports. Darlow is offering his services to the Toledo Football program at no cost.
 
"The University of Toledo football program is committed to providing its student-athletes with a first-class education that reaches well beyond the field of play," said Darlow. "This partnership is proof of that commitment and represents the future of student-athlete development. It's an honor to be able to help these young men achieve their dreams."
 
Each video lesson will cover one of Darlow's philosophies on brand development. At the end of each video, student-athletes are then given the option to complete an assignment found in their copy of Darlow's new book: The Darlow Rules. Those homework assignments provide guidance to the student-athletes on how to begin building their plan for life after sports. Each student will graduate from the course with their own personal brand marketing plan, as well as a certificate of completion to include on their professional resume.
