TOLEDO, Ohio - Head Coach Joe Abraham announced on Monday that pitcher Makenna Durieux (Massillon, Ohio) is transferring to the University of Toledo from Wright State University. Durieux is eligible to play for the Rockets immediately.
"Makenna comes to us with considerable Division I experience after having logged nearly 150 innings in her freshman year," Abraham said. "I saw Makenna pitch during her travel ball years and always thought she would be a good pitcher at our level. We're expecting her to play a key role for us."
Durieux started 22 of 35 games she played for the Raiders during her freshman season and posted a 6-14 win-loss mark with a 4.10 ERA in 148.2 innings pitched. She registered six complete games, including a 3-0 shutout against Dayton that featured 11 strikeouts.
During her prep career, Durieux was a first-team all-state honoree at Perry High School and led the Panthers to a Division I state title during her senior season
