STATESBORO, Ga. - The Toledo women's tennis team fell, 6-1, to Georgia Southern in its second match of its spring training trip on Wednesday in Statesboro, Ga. 
 
Senior Dee Dee Leenabanchong and sophomore Eileen Carney posted a 7-6(3) win on the No. 1 doubles court against Arianne de Winter/Mila Hartig, but it wasn't enough to secure the point. 
 
Freshman Sloane Teske earned the Rockets' sole point against the Eagles on the No. 3 court, defeating de Winter in three sets. Teske won the first set, 6-3, before falling 5-7 in the second. In the third set, Teske bounced back to seal the win, 10-8. On the No. 1 court, Leenabanchong also locked into a three-set battle with Nadja Meier. After winning the first set 6-4, Leenabanchong dropped the second 3-6. In the tiebreaker, Leenabanchong was unable to seal the win and fell 10-4. 
 
"Dee Dee and Sloane played great singles' matches today," said head coach Tracy Mauntler. "They were smart and really mentally tough. This win will definitely give Sloane some solid confidence."  
 
Up Next 
The Rockets travel to Charleston, S.C. to take on Charleston Southern on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. before closing out their spring training trip with a 10:00 a.m. match against the College of Charleston on Saturday.
