TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's golf team improved its stroke total by 15 strokes in Tuesday's final round to wrap up the inaugural Glass City Invitational at the historic Inverness Club. Senior Saranlak Tumfong led the Rockets by firing an even-par 72 to register a Top 20 finish in an event that included eight teams that advanced to post-season play last year.

Tumfong posted a six-over par 222 (75-75-72) over 54 holes and had a chance to finish under par but bogeyed her final hole.

"Sara is a competitor and she loves this environment," Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said. "She's really grasping the type of player she can become and that's exciting to see."

Three other Rockets registered a three-stroke improvement or more today. Senior Thunpijja Sukkasem (82-82-77=241) finished with a five-over 77, freshman Amelia Lee (82-82-79=243) tallied a seven-over par 79 and senior Donchanok Toburint (91-89-8-265) notched an 11-over par 85. Also competing in the tournament were freshmen Claudia Sampson (89-83-88=260) and Kathryn Roth (90-90-89=269).

"Our improvement from yesterday to today showed that our team is here to learn," Coluccio said. "Our objective this year is to get a little better each day. If we continue to do that, we're going to make big strides by the end of the season."

No. 8 Florida captured the tournament title with a six-over par 870, four strokes in front of Michigan (874) and nine ahead of No. 19 Michigan State (879). The Gators were tied for the tournament lead following the opening round and held a two-shot advantage over the Spartans entering today's play.

Furman's Natalie Srinivasan earned medalist honors with a five-under par 211 (70-70-71) with Florida's Sierra Brooks finishing in second place at one-under par 215 (71-70-74).

Toledo will return to action on Friday-Sunday, Sept. 27-29 with a trip to Greenville, S.C. for Furman's Lady Paladin Invitational.
