Rockets Conclude Opening Day of Glass City Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio – Senior Saranlak Tumfong paced the Toledo women's golf team on Monday with a six-over 150 in the first two rounds of the inaugural Glass City Invitational. The tournament is being held at the historic Inverness Club.

Tomorrow's final round will begin with an 8:00 a.m. tee time off the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.  Coverage of the final round will be streamed on ESPN3 beginning at noon.

Tumfong registered identical three-over par 75s in the morning and afternoon. She recorded two birdies in the first round and three more in the second. Rounding out the Rocket lineup were senior Thunpijja Sukkasem (T-75th/82-82=164), freshman Amelia Lee (T-75th/82-82=164), senior Donchanok Toburint (T-79th/91-89=180) and freshman Kathryn Roth (T-79th/90-80=180).

Freshman Claudia Sampson (89-83=172) competed as an individual and is in 78th place.

No. 8 Florida leads the 13-team field at five-over par 581, two strokes in front of No. 19 Michigan State's mark of seven-over par 583 and four ahead of No. 16 Illinois' total of nine-over 582. The Gators and Fighting Illini were tied after the opening round at two-under par 286. Ten shots separate the top six team in the field with the top three followed by Michigan (587), Furman (587) and Baylor (591).

The Paladins' Natalie Srinivasan sits atop the individual leaderboard at four-under par 140 (70-70) with Florida's Sierra Brooks (71-70=141) trailing her by a single shot.
