Toledo, Ohio – The University of Toledo Sports Medicine Department announced the hiring of
Colleen Bohannan and
Emily Loew as full-time assistant athletic trainers today.

Brian Jones. "She brings with her a very diverse background and will add another healthcare perspective to our team."
Bohannan will be working with the swimming & diving team and joins the Rockets after obtaining her master's degree in kinesiology from Georgia Southern in 2019. At GSU, Bohannan served as the graduate assistant trainer for the men's and women's tennis teams and swimming & diving team. Bohannan acted at the host athletic trainer for the 2019 Sun Belt Tennis Championship Tournament and provided athletic training services to the all-girl cheer, co-ed cheer, football, women's soccer and softball teams as needed.
Bohannan began her career by pursuing a bachelor of science in athletic training from Oregon State in 2017. While at Oregon State, she worked with the volleyball, women's rowing, women's swimming, women's track, women's cross country and softball teams. Bohannan also obtained clinical experience at Western Oregon in 2015, working with seven of their 11 offered sports.
Loew returns to the sports medicine roster as a full-time member after receiving her master of science -exercise science from Toledo in 2019. Loew will continue to work primarily with the softball program and will assist with football coverage as part of her duties. Loew will also oversee the graduate assistant athletic trainer covering the baseball program.

As a graduate assistant, Loew mainly worked with the softball team. In 2018, Loew served as the interim athletic trainer for the women's soccer team and was a summer athletic training intern.
Prior to working at Toledo, Loew pursued a bachelor of science in athletic training at Purdue in 2017. While at Purdue, Loew did clinical rotations with the tennis, track and field, and football teams, as well as at Wabash College, McCutcheon High School, the Purdue Physicians' Office, Student Physical Therapy Clinic and Student Recreational Center Athletic Training Clinic.
