KENNESAW, Ga. – Senior
Nate Thomson tied for eighth place for his best finish as a Rocket and the Toledo men's golf team posted a seventh-place showing on Tuesday at Kennesaw State's Pinetree Intercollegiate. The Rockets improved two spots in today's final round and finished at 31-over 895 at the par-72, 7,108-yard Pinetree Country Club.
Thomson was consistent throughout the tournament en route to carding a four-over par 220. He shot a one-over par 73s in the first and third rounds sandwiched by a two-over par 74 in the second round.
"It was nice to see Nate earn a Top-10 finish and couple of our other guys play a solid round or two in the tournament," Head Coach
Jeff Roope said. "Fundamental work on their wedge games and all aspects of putting are going to be vital moving forward."
Senior
Rasmus Broholt Lind tied for 21
st place at seven-over par 223, while freshman
Jack Doody tied for 25
th place at 11-over par 227. Both finishes were Lind's and Doody's best this season.
Rounding out the Rocket lineup were sophomore
David Amm (T-34
th/229) and senior
Grant Godfrey (T-39
th/230).
Toledo returns to action in two weeks when it heads to the West Coast for the Saint Mary's Invitational on Monday-Wednesday, Nov. 4-6.
