Rockets to Tee Off Fall Campaign This Weekend in Indiana

TOLEDO, Ohio — The University of Toledo men's golf team will kick off its 2018-19 season in Henryville, Ind. at Indiana's Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational. The 54-hole tournament will be played on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 8-9 at Champion Pointe Golf Club, a par-72, 7,174-yard layout. A 9:00 a.m. shotgun start will be held for 36 holes on Saturday with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. for Sunday's final 18 holes.

       Toledo's lineup will consist of sophomore Grant Godfrey at No. 1, junior Rasmus Broholt Lind at No. 2, freshman Muhammed Afif Mohd Fathi at No. 3, senior Spencer Shoemaker at No. 4 and sophomore Jack Boczar at No. 5. Freshman David Amm is not competing for UT this weekend due to representing his native Zimbabwe in the World Amateur Team Golf Championship on Sept. 4-8 in Maynooth, Ireland.

THE FIELD
       The Rockets will be competing against a 13-team field that includes Bethune Cookman, Bowling Green, Evansville, Georgetown, IUPUI, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, Southern Illinois, Western Illinois, Western Kentucky, Youngstown State and the host Hoosiers. This will be Toledo's first year participating in this tournament.

LINEUP DEBUTS
       Three Rockets will be making their first appearance in UT's lineup this weekend. Boczar competed in one tournament last year as an individual, while Broholt Lind and Mohd Fathi are playing in their first tournament as a Rocket.
       Godfrey, who received a medical redshirt due to a back injury last year, posted a 74.6 mark in two tournaments last year and has played in 26 career rounds. Shoemaker possesses the most experience for the Rockets with 67 career rounds.
ON THE HORIZON
       Following this weekend's tournament, the Rockets will head to Sugar Grove, Ill. for the Northern Intercollegiate hosted by Northern Illinois University on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 15-16.  Â
