Rockets Tie for 12th Place at Mary Fossum Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Senior Pinyada Kuvanun tied for 14th place at two-over par 218 (73-71-74) on Sunday to help Toledo tie for 12th place at the Mary Fossum Invitational. The tournament consisted of seven teams that qualified for the 2018 NCAA Regionals and was played at the par-72, 6,334 Forest Akers West Golf Course.

The Rockets shot 309 as a team to finish the 54-hole event at 41-over par 905 (301-295-309). Virginia edged host Michigan State by two strokes for the tournament title at seven-under par 857 (281-290-286). The Cavaliers' Anna Redding and Spartans' Allyson Geer-Park shared medalist honors at nine-under par 207.

Kuvanun notched pars on her first seven holes before posting a bogey. She then tallied five more pars before a birdie on the 14th hole got her back to even. A double-bogey on the 16th hole left her at two-over for the round.

Seniors Pimchanok Kawil (73-75-77=225) and Natcha Daengpiem (74-74-79=227) tied for 33rd and 45th place, respectively.

Rounding out the Rocket lineup were juniors Saranlak Tumfong (T-67th/81-75-79=235) and Donchanok Toburint (90th/90-88-88=266).

Toledo will be idle for the next two weekends before returning to action with a trip to Lexington, Ky. for the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational on Oct. 5-7.
