Five Rockets Sign Free Agent Contracts With NFL Teams

Toledo, Ohio – Five former University of Toledo players signed free agent contracts with NFL teams today following the conclusion of the NFL Draft. The five join former teammate Logan Woodside, who was draft by Cincinnati in the seventh round, in their pursuit of NFL careers.

Defensive end Olasunkanmi Adeniyi (Houston, Texas) was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers, running back Terry Swanson (Aliquippa, Pa.) signed with the Houston Texans, offensive lineman Elijah Nkansah (Mason, Ohio) signed with the Tennessee Titans, offensive lineman Brant Weiss (Sunbury, Ohio) inked with the Arizona Cardinals and defensive back Trevon Mathis (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was signed by the Minnesota Vikings.

The total of six draftees/signees is the most in Toledo history. Last year the Rockets had three draftees and one signee. In both 2014 and 2012, five Rockets signed free agents deals.
