Toledo, Ohio – Senior Natcha Daengpiem (Chon Buri, Thailand) was named the Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week on Thursday after winning her first tournament as a collegian and helping Toledo to a second-place showing at the MAC Preview. Daengpiem is receiving the honor for the first time in her collegiate career.
    
Daengpiem posted a career-best four-under par 212 (71-66-75) at the par-72, 5,991-yard Purgatory Golf Club. She carded a one-under 71 in Sunday's opening round before tallying a career-low 66 (the second lowest in school history) in the afternoon. Daengpiem opened her remarkable round on the 10th hole and tallied birdies on No. 11, 12 and 13. After posting one bogey and nine pars over her next 10 holes, Daengpiem caught fire. She birdied No. 6, aced the par-three, 117-yard No. 7 hole and then birdied No. 8.
 
In the final round, Daengpiem overcame cold and windy conditions to register a three-over 75. That round matched the third-lowest of the day and gave her a three-stroke victory.
 
Daengpiem led the tournament in par-four scoring at even-par and tied for first in par-five scoring at three-under.
 
Daengpiem and the Rockets will be back in action this weekend with a trip to Louisville, Ky. for the Cardinal Cup on Oct. 20-21.
