PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Sophomores Joe Bryce and Thomas Thurloway each shot two-over par 73s on Monday to lead Toledo in the opening round of the Saint Mary's Invitational. The tournament field includes 12 teams ranked in Golfstat's Top 100 and is being played at the par-71, 7,002-yard Poppy Hills Golf Course.

Bryce was on his way to shooting under par but registered a triple bogey on the par-four, 443-yard 10^th hole and a bogey on the par-three, 202-yard 11^th hole. Thurloway eagled the par-five, 515-yard ninth hole and was one-over par on both the front and back nine.

Junior Duncan McNeill is tied for 55^th place at five-over par 76, senior Stephen Watts is tied for 81^st at seven-over par 78 and senior Colin Joseph is tied for 86^th at eight-over par 79. Junior Spencer Shoemaker is competing as an individual and is in 99^th place at 12-over par 83.

The Rockets posted a 16-over par 300 team total and are in 14^th place in the team standings. San Francisco sits atop the leaderboard after carding a three-under par 281, two shots in front of Stanford and Colorado State.

The tournament's second round will be held Tuesday with the third and final round taking place on Wednesday.
