Toledo Sits in 13th Place Following Second Day at St. Mary’s Invitational

PEBBLE BEACH, CA – Toledo sits in 13th place following the second day at the 11th-annual Saint Mary's Invitational on Tuesday. The three-day event is taking place at the par-71, 6,868-yard Poppy Hills Golf Course and is being hosted by Saint Mary's (CA).
The Rockets have posted a team score of 45-over par 613 (303-310) over the opening 36 holes, 34 shots behind leader San Diego State (299-280) at 11-over par 579.
Freshman Thomas Thurloway is pacing UT at six-over par 148 (72-76) and stands tied for 18th place.
Junior Stephen Watts is the next closest Rocket at 11-over par 153 (75-78) to sit tied for 48th place, followed by junior Colin Joseph at 14-over par 156 (77-79) to rest in a tie for the 65th spot.
Rounding out Toledo's lineup are newcomers Grant Godfrey and Joe Bryce at 17-over par 159 (79-80) and 18-over par 160 (83-77) to find themselves tied for 74th place and tied for 77th place, respectively.
Also competing in the fall's final event is sophomore Spencer Shoemaker at eight-over par 150 (74-76) to sit tied for 32nd place. The second-year Rocket tied for the team lead with a tally of five-over par 76 during today's second round.
Individually, the leader in the clubhouse is host Saint Mary's (CA) Eduardo Carrete at five-under par 137 (69-68), two shots ahead of San Francisco's Tim Widing at one-under par 141 (69-72).
The third and final round will begin tomorrow morning with a tee time start at 8:40 a.m. (PT) off Hole No. 10 for UT. The Rockets will play with Idaho and five individuals during Wednesday's last round.
