TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo Rockets began fall training camp on Monday, with two practices taking place in the Glass Bowl.
The team was split in half, with some of the players practicing in the morning and the remaining players attending the afternoon practice session.
“I'm really proud of what this team looks like,” head coach Matt Campbell said. “We've got a great senior class that's leading the way and it should be a really fun fall camp for all of us.”
Toledo was picked to finish first in the Mid-American Conference's West Division and received six votes to win the MAC Championship game. The Rockets finished 7-5 (5-3 MAC) in 2013 and return a number of starters including first-team All-MAC linebacker Junior Sylvestre and two-time All-MAC offensive lineman Greg Mancz.
UT will open the season at home vs. New Hampshire on Aug. 30, before welcoming 2013 SEC East Division champion Missouri on Sept. 6.
