- Toledo falls to 8-3, 5-2 in MAC play, tied with Ball State for second place in the MAC West. The Rockets can clinch at least a tie for second place with a win vs. Akron next Tuesday.
- David Fluellen's 79 rushing yards gives him 1,460 for the season, 10 yards shy of fifth-place on the all-time UT season rushing list (Chester Taylor, 1,470 yards in 2000). Fluellen, who leads the nation in rushing yards, added a career-high 6 receptions for 55 yards.
- Dan Molls' led the Rockets with 16 tackles, his 16th-consecutive game with at least nine tackles and ninth time this season he has had at least 13 tackles in a game. Molls, who leads the nation with 148 tackles, also had his third interception of the season.
- Terrance Owens completed 22-of-32 passes for 265 yards but also tied his career high with three interceptions. Owens also threw three picks vs. FIU in the 2010 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.
- Bernard Reedy caught 10 passes for 131 yards. He now has 78 receptions on the season which puts him 10th on Toledo all-time season reception list, passing John Ross who had 77 catches in 1974.
- Jeremiah Detmer hit a 34-yard field goal, his 14th consecutive field goal this season. Detmer now has 21 field goals this season, tying Rusty Hannah (1992) for the most field goals in a season by a Rocket.
- Toledo falls to 29-11 all-time vs. NIU and has now lost three straight to the Huskies.
- Toledo is 19-4 in its last 23 MAC games with three of those losses coming vs. NIU.
- Toledo held NIU to seven first-half points, NIU's lowest first-half output of the season.
- Senior DT Danny Farr started for the first time since his injury in the Wyoming game on Sept. 8.
- Team captains for the game were Terrance Owens, Dan Molls, Jermaine Robinson and Mark Singer.
