Tonight's attendance was 28, 905, marking Toledo's largest crowd since 31,981 fans were in attendance at the Bowling Green game on Nov. 23, 2004.
With tonight's setback, the Rockets suffered their first home loss against a ranked team. UT is now 4-1 vs. teams ranked in the Top 25 in the Glass Bowl, with wins over No. 18 Marshall (2001), No. 9 Pittsburgh (2003), No. 21 Northern Il¬linois (2003) and most recently No. 24 Bowling Green (2004).
With tonight's loss, Toledo falls to 6-11 all-time vs. teams ranked in the top 25. UT is also 11-9 when appearing on ESPN and 3-5 vs. the Mountain West Conference.
Sophomore QB Terrance Owens did not get the start but took the majority of the snaps under center and completed 17-of-31 passes for 201 yards. Owens' completions, attempts and yards were all season highs.
Junior QB Austin Dantin got the start under center and finished 3-for-8 for 50 yards, including a 24-yard TD strike to senior TE Danny Noble in the first quarter. Dantin has now thrown a TD pass in each of the first three games this season.
Junior WR Eric Page caught a game-high eight passes for 69 yards. With tonight's effort, Page became just the fourth player in school history to surpass the 200-catch plateau. He has now caught a pass in 28 consecutive games and has 206 career catches for 2,538 yards, ranking fourth in UT annals in each category.
Sophomore WR Bernard Reedy reeled in four passes for a team-high 84 yards. Reedy came into tonight's contest with six catches for 129 yards through the first two games.
Senior TE Danny Noble was credited with a 24-yard TD catch in the first quarter. Noble now has two TD receptions on the season and eight in his career.
Senior PK Ryan Casano booted a 35-yard field goal in the second quarter and is now 4-of-5 on field-goal attempts on the season.
Senior CB Desmond Marrow finished with a career-high 12 tackles and two pass breakups, surpassing his previous high of 10 stops on three occasions. Marrow came into tonight's game with eight tackles through the first two games.
Junior SS Jermaine Robinson picked off his first pass of the season in the third quarter and returned it 60 yards. Robinson was also credited with five tackles and one forced fumble. He now has two career interceptions.
Sophomore P Vince Penza punted eight times for 37.1 yards per kick, including three boots that landed inside the 20-yard line. Penza has now dropped four punts inside the 20-yard line through the first three contests.
Senior STAR Charles Rancifer totaled a career-high nine tackles, bettering his previous high of eight stops against New Hampshire Sept. 1, 2011. Rancifer entered tonight's contest with 11 tackles through the opening pair of games.
Boise State QB Kellen Moore completed 32 passes for 455 yards and five touchdowns, signifying the first time in school history a player has thrown five TDs against the Rockets. The last time a UT opponent threw for at least 400 yards was Western Michigan's Alex Carder (403 yards) on Sept. 18, 2010.
Senior DL Johnie Roberts, senior LB Terrell Anderson, senior TE Danny Noble and junior LB Robert Bell served as tonight's game captains. UT names its captains on a game-by-game basis, rewarding players for their effort and dedication.
