Today was Tom Amstutz's final game as the Rockets' head coach. He finishes his UT career with a record of 58-41, 36-11 in the Glass Bowl and 4-4 vs. arch-rival Bowling Green. Amstutz announced on Nov. 2 that his eighth season as the Rocket leader would be his last.
The 38-10 defeat was the worst home loss for Toledo against the Falcons since a 38-0 loss in 1981.
Bowling Green has won two straight in the battle for the Peace Pipe, and leads the series 38-31-4.
Senior WR Nick Moore caught two passes for 10 yards. He finishes his UT career with 182 receptions (fourth on UT's career reception list); 2,045 receiving yards (5th) and 13 touchdowns (8th).
Junior WR Stephen Williams had two receptions, moving him past Carl Ford (149 catches from 1999-2002) into seventh place with 150 career receptions.
Senior free safety Tyrrell Herbert had his team-leading fourth interception of the season, eighth of his career.
Junior Alex Steigerwald connected on a 24-yard field goal in the third quarter, making him 16-of-21 for the season. Steigerwald has hit 36-of-42 in his three-year career as a Rocket.
One week after breaking the UT record with 330 yards rushing vs. Miami, redshirt freshman Morgan Williams gained 153 yards on 21 carries on the ground. Williams finishes the year with a UT freshman record 1,010 yards with six touchdowns.
Toledo was held to -1 total offense and one first down in the first half. The Rockets finished the game with a season-low 196 yards of total offense.
Toledo had two sacks, breaking a three-game drought since the Rockets' last sack on Oct. 25 vs. Central Michigan.
Sophomore LB Archie Donald was credited with a career-best 17 tackles. Donald led or shared the team-lead in stops in eight of the last nine games. His previous career-best effort was 13 tackles vs. Miami last Friday.
Junior S Barry Church finished with 11 tackles and registered double-digit stops five times this season.
