With tonight's win, the Rockets snap a four-game overall and home losing skid.
Redshirt freshman RB Morgan Williams rushed for a school-record 330 yards. Williams' total is the sixth-most in Mid-American Conference history and eclipsed the school mark by 25 yards. He finished the record-setting game with a career-high 28 carries and scored three touchdowns, including an 86-yard TD scamper in the second quarter. The Canton, OH native's long TD run is the fourth-longest overall run in school history and the third-longest TD run in UT annals. Williams' total yardage is also a Glass Bowl record and the second-most in the Football Bowl Subdivision this season. Navy's Shun White ran for 348 yards vs. Navy earlier this fall.
As a team, the Rockets finished with a season-high 377 yards rushing. Their previous best rushing effort was 297 yards vs. Fresno State on Sept. 20. UT finished tonight's game with a decisive 302 yard edge (377-75) over the RedHawks.
Toledo ended the win with 516 yards of total offense, surpassing the 500-yard barrier for the second time this season. The Rockets' highest total this season is 598 yards vs. Fresno State.
Senior WR Nick Moore caught a team-high nine passes for 92 yards. Moore now ranks fourth in school history in receptions (180) and fifth in yardage (2,035). He is the fifth player in UT annals to surpass 2,000 receiving yards.
Redshirt freshman P Bill Klaus booted the ball four times and averaged 40.2 yards per punt. Klaus has now averaged over 40 ypp five times this season.
Senior CB Tyrrell Herbert picked off his team-best third pass of the season and finished with eight tackles.
The Rockets scored 21 points in each half and posted their third-best scoring output in a single half this season. UT tallied a season-high 27 points vs. Eastern Michigan in the second stanza on Sept. 13.
Toledo tallied 42 points tonight and has now scored at least 40 points three times this season and on 33 occasions in Tom Amstutz's eight-year tenure as head coach.
Freshman CB Kenny Veal was credited with his first career interception and finished with five stops.
Redshirt freshman RB Adonis Thomas carried the ball nine times for 40 yards and scored his first collegiate TD in the fourth quarter.
Sophomore LB Archie Donald led the Rockets with a career-high 13 tackles. Donald has now finished with double-digit stops five times this season.
Junior S Barry Church tied his season-high with 10 stops. The two-time first-team All-MAC honoree has now tallied 10 stops on four occasions this fall.
