Head Coach Tom Amstutz
(On WMU's last drive Before halftime)
"They did a good job, they ran a little draw and then got into their two-minute mode and hit a couple over the middle and got outside on us. They did a nice job executing, came up with some big catches. That's really critical, you can't allow that to happen on defense. We've got to get off that field and get to halftime with a lead. That was a big momentum changer for them and a nice job by them."
(going for it on 4th down)
"We're doing whatever we can to try to get the ball down the field, try to get more points on the board. We took some risks to do that, to get the ball down in there to see if we can get some more points. That's what our philosophy was, and we went for it."
(on WMU QB Tim Hiller)
"He's a good football player. No. 6 passer in the country for a reason. He's got a good arm and got a lot of good receivers to throw to. It was a little bit windy out there, and their timing might have been off some, but he made the plays when they needed them."
(on run game success)
"We're going to have to. We want to finish out the year with a balanced offense."
Senior WR Nick Moore
"I felt like we had some down times. But we definitely showed that we had character and kept fighting throughout the whole game. The defense came up with big turnovers, we just tried to punch it in for them."
"We just had to keep our confidence up, keep our heads high and go out and play confident every play."
Junior Safety Barry Church
"We just had a little collapse on defense. Everyone was doing their part, we just had a little collapse. It proved to be fatal because I believe that gave them momentum going into the second half. Our defense played a pretty good game, but that play right there gave them momentum going into the second half."
On WMU RB Aaron Winchester)
"He's a good back. He was really shifty, really fast back. He was able to hide behind the line of scrimmage a little bit and squeak out for some big yards. He disappears between the lineman and all of a sudden he just pops out on the other side. It's kind of difficult."
"It was just a matter of them making one more big play than we did, like that play before halftime. They played a better game than we did on defense."
