Notes
Head Coach Tom Amstutz
"I really respect Garrett Wolfe. He is an outstanding football player. I thought we did a nice job containing him. We wanted to limit the number of times he touched the football. I think when we got the lead that changed things up for them a little bit. They went to a little bit more of a passing attack."
"I am really proud of our players. It was a great time for a win. We need two more wins to finish the season with four wins in a row. It was beautiful football, it was good old football. A win feels good."
(On the fog) "It makes it really interesting. It cleaned up enough in the second half. It was a factor especially at the end of the second quarter. I was kind of happy to see the fog roll in at the end of the game."
"That's what we do, we go for it on a lot of fourth downs. That's the style of football we play. They made a real nice play and we didn't make it, but that's the way we play."
LB Steven Morrison
On the Fog:
"It was fun to play in the fog. I was just focusing on my assignments and trying to hit people. I was just trying to hit as many people as possible."
NIU Coach Joe Novak
On the loss to Toledo:
"[It was a] tough one. I was proud of our defense. I thought they gave us a chance. Offensively we didn't get it done. We made all the mistakes we could. Penalties killed us. Our defense has made good progress this season. They kept us in the game. But we didn't get it done. We're 5-5. We've had six straight winning seasons here and we'll continue to work and hopefully get things straightened out."
On Garrett Wolfe:
"He got nicked up in the first half. I wasn't sure he was going to play in the second half but he came back and battled."
