Recap |  Final Stats |  Notes

Head Coach Tom Amstutz

"That was a great football game. It was two teams battling hard. My hat is off to Northern Illinois."

"Our philosophy is to make plays. We don't always take the cautious or safe route."

(streak against NIU) "I don't want to start any rumors of a curse, but things have gone well for us against them. It's just one of those things. There are streaks where you play well against one team and not as well against another. But that's only temporary."

"We have one game left against Bowling Green. It's a very important game for us. We'll enjoy this for a day then start getting ready for Bowling Green."

Quarterback Bruce Gradkowski

"Third down is the money down. That's what we call it. It's definitely hard for a defense when you are making it on third down."

"The offensive line did a great job. They gave me time when I needed it, and we were able to run the ball effectively."

"Northern is a great football team. Every year is a new season. We never focus on what happened last year. We just knew we were in for a dogfight, four quarters long."

Linebacker Anthony Jordan

"We knew what we had to do. We made our adjustments at halftime. We just had to fit guys where they were supposed to fit. We got out of position a few times in the first half so we had to make a few adjustments."

"Any time the offense is driving and keeping us off the field, it's a good thing. As a defense, you want to stay off the field as much as possible."

Wide Receiver Lance Moore

"We're a confident offense, regardless of the situation. We always feel like there's a chance we can make the play. Rob Spence is a great offensive coordinator, and he made great calls tonight that gave us a chance to make those plays."

"The offensive line was giving Bruce time to throw the ball, and Bruce is throwing great balls and the coaches are calling great plays. All I have to do is run and catch the ball, so I have the easisest part of the business."
