Head Coach Tom Amstutz
On the differences in the game:
"The biggest difference in the first and second half was turnovers. In the second half, we forced a fumble and got an interception and we did a better job of holding onto the ball. Our offensive line and the pace of our offense was also able to wear them down in the second half, and the defense came up with some big stops in the second half when we needed them."
On getting a road win:
"It's now where you play or who you play but it comes down to how you play as a team. I thought we played to win this game and worked hard all four quarters."
On being down 10-0 at halftime:
"We knew that this was going to be a tough game because they are a very talented team. We wanted to hang with them and despite being down 10-0 at the half we still felt like we could still win with a couple of big plays.
On Astin Martin's play:
"Astin played inspired and I am so happy he will be on our team for the next three years. I thought our rotation of three running backs helped wear them down."
Freshman Astin Martin
"We came out kind of flat in the first half. In the second half, we knew we needed to make some changes and came out and played hard."
"We started to notice they were getting tired at the end of the first half. We started pounding the ball on the ground and that kept our offense on the field."
Senior Carl Ford
On the offense in the second half:
"We just got together in the locker room at halftime and talked about finishing our drives. We did a lot of good things in the first half, but we had one play that stopped us on each drive."
"We needed this win. I think this win will help make us battle-tested for the rest of the season."
Sophomore Patrick Body
On playing free safety in place of injured Demetris Simms:
"It wasn't hard switching positions. Free safety is a fun position and I love it because there is a lot of open space and I get the chance to make plays."
On making an interception and forcing a fumble:
"I was just in the right place at the right time. That's all it really came down to."
