Rockets Earn ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

Toledo, Ohio— The University of Toledo baseball team has earned the Team Academic Excellence Award from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), the organization announced Wednesday.
This marks the third season in a row the Rockets have received this award from the ABCA. The ABCA's Team Academic Excellence Award honors high school and college programs coached by ABCA members that post a grade-point average over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the most recent academic year.
A record number of teams were recognized with the 2017-18 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award. In total, 287 college and high school programs received this year's award, including 93 high school programs and 76 teams from NCAA Div. III.
Toledo was one of two Mid-American Conference schools to receive the award, with Ball State being the other.
