Rockets Place Four on Academic All-MAC Squad

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf program placed four student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC team, the league office announced today. The Rockets' total of four recipients ranked second in the conference behind Northern Illinois' total of six.

Seniors Colin Joseph and Stephen Watts were joined by junior Spencer Shoemaker and sophomore Thomas Thurloway on the Academic All-MAC team.

Shoemaker and Joseph paced the Rockets with 3.825 and 3.823 grade-point averages, respectively. During the 2017-18 academic year, the men's golf program posted a 3.553 GPA in the fall semester and a 3.450 GPA in the spring semester.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
