Women's Track and Field

Conference-Most 19 Rockets Named to Academic All-MAC Team

Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo women's track and field team landed a conference-high 19 student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC team, the league office announced today.

"This is a great recognition for our student-athletes," head coach Linh Nguyen said. "Being a full-time student and a division-one athlete is difficult and time consuming. For these women to succeed at the level they do in the classroom and on the track is a testament to their hard work and dedication. It also says a lot about UT and the athletic department that we provide the support and opportunities needed to achieve their goals as a student, while also providing a top-notch athletic experience. I couldn't be more proud of them and their success."

Amanda Bakley, Stephanie Barlow, Olivia Chinn, Maddie Ferner, Sally Frank, Ashley Herrmann, Nautica Hill, Allyson Hill, Christina Johnson, Bridget Keenan, Yana Khabina, Roma Lucarelli, Janelle Noe, Madison Pierce, Danda da Silva, Petronela Simiuc, Shanice Williams, Athena Welsh and Josie Yesmunt all earned the honor this season.

Fourteen of Toledo's selections earned a grade-point average above 3.50.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
