Rasmus Broholt Lind Transferring to Rockets

TOLEDO, Ohio — University of Toledo head men's golf coach Jeff Roope announced on Monday that Rasmus Broholt Lind (Oddor, Denmark) is transferring to the University of Toledo from Lindsey Wilson College. Lind will have two seasons of athletic eligibility remaining beginning in the 2018-19 academic year.

Lind, who earned NAIA Second-Team All-America honors and registered a 72.3 stroke average this past season, tied for 20th place at last week's NAIA Championship with a four-round total of three-over par 287 (69-72-71-75). Lind is a two-time Golf Coaches Association of America's NAIA PING All-South Region and Mid-South Conference all-league selection and collected one tournament title and five top-five showings this season. As a freshman, Lind received NAIA Third-Team All-America and MSC Freshman of the Year honors, posted a 71.9 stroke average with two tournament titles, and finished runner-up at the MSC Championship at six-under par 210 (70-67-73).

"We feel very fortunate to have Rasmus join our program, both as a player and as a member of the University of Toledo community," Roope said. "Rasmus came to the United States with a great track record as a junior/amateur player throughout Europe and did not disappoint in college. His accomplishments at Lindsey Wilson were amongst the best at the NAIA level, and we feel very fortunate to have him join us as a Rocket."

Roope added that the timing couldn't be better for the Lind family. Lind has a younger brother, Soren, who plays for the University of San Francisco, who incidentally will be playing in the 2018 Inverness Intercollegiate.
