TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo will travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. this weekend to compete in the 2018 Mid-American Conference Championships. The Rockets will be competing with eight other schools for the opportunity to participate in the 2018 NCAA Regionals. The three-day event will be held on Friday-Sunday, April 27-29Â at the par-72, 7,331-yard Sycamore Hills Golf Club. Thirty-six holes will be played on Friday with 18 holes scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
Toledo's opening-round tee times on Friday will be at 8:30 am, 8:47 am, 9:04 am, 9:12 am and 9:29 am.
THE FIELD
• Nine schools are participating in the MAC Championships.
• Kent State has won the last two MAC Championships and has won a conference-best 24 tourney titles. The Golden Flashes are ranked No. 30 in Golfstat's national rankings followed by Miami (76), Toledo (110), Eastern Michigan (128), Ball State (140), Northern Illinois (148), Bowling Green (154), Akron (178), and Ohio (237).

ROCKETS AT THE MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
• UT's lineup this week will include sophomore
Thomas Thurloway at #1, senior

• The Rockets have won three league crowns in school history in 1964, 2002 and 2004. Toledo also posted runner-up finishes in 2013 and 2015.
• UT features a balanced lineup with five Rockets posting 74.4 stroke averages or lower. Sophomore
Joe Bryce leads the way with a 72.8 scoring mark and is followed by McNeill (73.5), Watts (74.0), Thurloway (74.2), and Joseph (74.4). Bryce will sit out the MAC Championships this weekend unfortunately due to injury.
• Joseph tied for fourth place at last year's MAC Championships with a one-under par 287 (74-69-69-75). Watts tied for 15
th place at the 2016 MAC Championships with a 14-over par 298 (75-76-75-72). Joseph and Watts also tied for 19
th place at the 2015 MAC Championships.
LOOKING BACK AT THE BOILERMAKER INVITATIONAL
• Toledo finished its regular season in positive fashion by tying for fourth place at the rain-shortened Boilermaker Invitational. The Rockets shot a five-over par 581 and tied with No. 39 Purdue. No. 26 Kent State and No. 37 Northwestern tied for first place at three-over par 579.
• Junior
Duncan McNeill led UT in the event at four-under par 140 (71-69) and tied for second place. He was rewarded for that effort by being named MAC Men's Golfer of the Week for the second time this season.
• Senior
Stephen Watts tied for 12
th place for the second straight tournament after shooting a one-over par 145 (73-72).
ON THE HORIZON
• The winning team at the 2018 MAC Championships will qualify for NCAA Regionals action on May 14-16. The 2018 regional sites are in Columbus, Ohio; Raleigh, N.C.; Bryan, Texas; Kissimmee, Fla.; Norman, Okla.; and Stockton, Calif.
