Toledo Collects Runner-Up Finish at 2018 MAC Championships

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Toledo registered its fourth runner-up finish at the Mid-American Conference Championships in the last six years by finishing 13 strokes in front of third-place Northern Illinois on Sunday. Junior Pinyada Kuvanun received first-team All-MAC honors as well as a spot on the MAC All-Tournament team following today's play, while sophomore Saranlak Tumfong earned second-team All-MAC accolades.
The Rockets finished the 54-hole tournament at 46-over par 910, 57 strokes behind No. 16 Kent State which has won the postseason event in each of its 20-year existence. The Golden Flashes shot a tourney-record 11-under par 853 with sophomore Pimnipa Panthong firing a record eight-under par 208 (67-72-69).
Kuvanun finished alone in third place with an even-under par 216 (72-71-73) and was just two shots behind KSU junior Michaela Finn (71-72-71). She collected a tournament-best 40 pars as well as seven birdies over the last three days.
Joining Kuvanun in the Top 10 was Tumfong, who tied for seventh place at nine-over par 225 (74-73-78).
Rounding out the Rocket lineup were junior Pimchanok Kawil tied for 15th place at 15-over par 231 (75-79-77), junior Hannah Kochendoerfer tied for 33rd place at 26-over par 242 (86-77-79) and sophomore Donchanok Toburint at 29-over par 245 (82-82-81).
