Annapolis, Md. - The Toledo women's swimming and diving team wrapped up day two of the CSCAA National Invitational hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy on Friday. The Rockets added 27 points to their score and closed out the afternoon in 14th place with 48.5 total points.
Â
UT swam in three events; the 200-yard medley relay, the 100-yard backstroke and the 800-yard freestyle relay. Head coach
Jonas Persson was very pleased with the way his team competed.
Â
"I'm very happy about senior
Allison Dicke stepping up and swimming a personal best in 200
free, even though it wasn't enough to make it to the finals," Persson said. "We were a little unlucky on missing finals in the 200 free and 100 breaststroke.
Â
"I was also pleased with Alida's swim in the 100 fly," Persson added. "It was her best time in yards. Our relays stepped up again and raced very hard, resulting in both scoring in the top 16. I'm looking forward to tomorrow."
Â
Sophomores
Maureen O'Sullivan,
Bec Welke and Eduarde Sales, along with Dicke swam in the 200 medley relay. The squad finished in 1:41.31 in the prelims and 1:43.72 in the finals to take 16th place overall. Dicke set a personal best while competing in the event.

Izzy Jones earned a spot in the B-final of the 100 back after each of them touched in at 55.88 in prelims. Jones took 12th in the finals after touching in at 55.34 while O'Sullivan took 15th with a time of 55.76.
Â
UT closed out the day with the squad of Jones, freshman
