Toledo Closes Out Day One of CSCAA Invitational

Annapolis, Md. - The Toledo women's swimming and diving team completed day one of the CSCAA National Invitational in Annapolis, Md. today. The Rockets sit in 15th place with a total of 22 points.

Head coach Jonas Persson was pleased with what he saw on day one.

"I was pleased with our performance," said Persson. "Our relays stepped and our 50 freestylers did a nice job, but unfortunately they didn't make it to finals."

Persson added that he's excited for tomorrow and the opportunity for his team to get back in the pool.

The Rockets swam in two events, the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard medley relay. The squad of freshman Alida Ramden, freshman Lisa Eriksson, sophomore Izzy Jones, and senior Allison Dicke finished 12th in the 200 free relay, touching in at 1:32.83 in prelims and 1:33.86 in finals.

UT finished 11th in the 400 medley relay, coming in at 3:42.35 in prelims and 3:45.18 in finals thanks to the group Maureen O'Sullivan, Bec Welke, Eduarda Sales and Ramden.

After day one Rice (143), Florida International (136) and Denver (114) lead the invitational.

The Rockets return for day two of the CSCAA tournament tomorrow morning 10:00 a.m. for prelims.
