Raleigh, N.C. - The Toledo women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2018 Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State today. The Rockets added three top-five finishes and two more personal-bests in the final day. UT secured seven Mid-American Conference automatic qualifying times through both days of competition.
 
"The team really came ready to compete this weekend and we saw a lot of personal-bests throughout events," head coach Linh Nguyen said following the end of day two. "It's not a stretch to say they enjoyed the weather."
 
Standout performances on Saturday came from juniors Yana Khabina and Nautica Hill. Khabina ran the 400-meter hurdles in 59.01, finishing second and setting a personal best while simultaneously earning a MAC automatic qualifying time. Hill took second in the 200-meter after finishing in 24.45.

"It was great to see Yana and Nautica start so strong today," Nguyen said. "It's hard to start the season that well in the 200m and hurdles, especially with the lack of outdoor training due to weather. However, they are both hard-working athletes so I'm not surprised. Yana should make the first round of the NCAA meet with that performance."
 
With a strong start to the outdoor season in the books, Toledo looks to its next meet. The Rockets return to action Friday, April 6 when the team travels to compete against Bowling Green.
