TOLEDO, Ohio – Senior Colin Joseph and junior Duncan McNeill were named Mid-American Conference Co-Men's Golfer of the Week on Thursday. Both Joseph and McNeill are receiving the honor for the first time in their Rocket careers, and it marks the second time this season a Toledo golfer has been honored.
Joseph and McNeill helped Toledo register its second straight runner-up finish last Sunday by each tying for 10th place at five-over par 221 at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular. The only team finishing ahead of the Rockets last weekend was No. 27 TCU.
Â
Joseph posted a team-best two-under par 70 in Sunday's final round thanks to collecting birdies on three of his last four holes. He was tied for third in the tournament in par-three scoring at even-par and registered 31 pars and 10 birdies during the 54-hole event.
Â
McNeill posted a team-best 73 in Saturday's opening round after registering four birdies. He ranked second in the tourney in par-five scoring at seven-under par and was tied for fourth with 12 birdies.
The Rockets return to action this weekend with a trip to Wilmington, N.C. for UNCW's Seahawk Intercollegiate on Sunday-Monday, March 25-26.
