Women’s Tennis Opens Up Fall Season at BGSU Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's tennis team opens up its 2017 fall season this weekend at the Bowling Green Invitational, Sept. 8-9. It's the first of four contests the Rockets are set to compete in during the fall season.
The BGSU Invitational begins on Friday, Sept. 8 and runs through Saturday, Sept. 9. Competition is from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day at both the Keefe Courts on the campus of BGSU and the Bowling Green High School courts.
UT will compete against Mid-American Conference rival Bowling Green, along with Kenyon, Case Western, Tiffin, Shawnee State, Northwestern and Oberlin.Â
The Rockets return six from last year's squad that went 9-12 (1-7 MAC). Sophomore Mimi Kendall-Woseley leads UT in 2017 after earning second-team All-MAC honors last season, recording an 18-8 overall record and 14-4 in dual meets.
Also returning for the Rockets is senior Sidnay Huck, who registered a 7-9 record as the No. 1 singles player for UT in 2016. During the summer, Huck and junior Claire Aleck were honored for their efforts in the classroom, being named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
