Rockets Travel to Florence on Day Four of Italy Trip
8/14/2017 4:39:00 AM | Men's Basketball
FLORENCE, Italy - The Rockets traveled from Rome to Florence on Sunday during their fourth day in Italy. The team saw the statue of David that was created by Michelangelo in the 1500s and toured the Palazzo Vecchio, a structure that was built during the Medici reign.
Florence is filled with a tremendous amount of history and was much bigger than Rome during the Renaissance age. During World War II, the city experienced a year-long German occupation (1943–1944) but was declared an "open city" toward the end of the war and avoided major war damage.
The Rockets' third game of their foreign trip will be played in Montecatini on Monday, August 14.
