Toledo, Ohio –University of Toledo student-athletes earned a combined grade point average of 3.270 in the 2017 spring semester, Vice-President and Athletic Director
Mike O'Brien announced today. It is the highest department semester GPA in school history. It is also the fifth consecutive semester in which UT student-athletes have earned a semester GPA above 3.2, and the 17th straight semester of at least a 3.1 GPA.
Â
"On behalf of our entire athletic department, I would like to offer congratulations to our student-athletes for a record-setting semester in the classroom," said O'Brien. "A department GPA of 3.270 is a fantastic achievement. We are also very proud of the fact that academic excellence has become the norm for us, as this is the fifth-consecutive semester in which our student-athletes have had at least a 3.2 GPA. Special mention should also be given to our women's golf program for recording the highest team GPA in school history.
Â
"I would also like to thank all those who work very hard to support the academic efforts of our student-athletes, from our faculty and Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) staff, to our coaches and parents. Their dedication really helps make a difference."
