Tod Kowalczyk announced the addition of 6-foot-5 combo guard
Dylan Alderson to the Rockets' men's basketball program on Monday.

    "We are very excited to announce that Dylan is going to become a member of our basketball family," Kowalczyk said. "He possesses great character, comes from a great family and is extremely well-coached after playing for an outstanding high school program under legendary coach Dan Fife. Dylan plays with toughness and has a versatile skill set that will allow him to make a smooth transition to college basketball."

    A Clarkston, Mich. native, Alderson averaged 23.9 ppg and 5.5 rpg this past season to help Clarkston High School to a 27-1 win-loss mark and Michigan's Class A state title. He joins forward
Logan Hill as the second Rocket newcomer to be a member of a state championship squad. Following the season, Alderson earned Detroit News Class A First-Team All-State and Detroit Free Press Second-Team All-State accolades.

    As a junior, Alderson averaged 16.1 ppg and 7.3 rpg en route to earning Associated Press Class A Honorable Mention All-State honors. He helped the Wolves capture league and district titles and finished his junior campaign ranked No. 26 in the Detroit Free Press Top 100 player list.

    Alderson averaged 17.4 ppg, 8.0 rpg and 5.0 apg as a sophomore at Davison, earning Class A honorable mention laurels from the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan. He helped lead the Cardinals to a 16-7 mark in 2014-15 as they claimed their first district title in 37 years.
