
Chandler Rice Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Second-Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Senior Chandler Rice has been awarded with 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® second-team honors. CoSIDA's All-District Softball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Rice is one of six Mid-American Conference softball athletes to be named to the first or second team in District 5 (Ill., Ind., Mich., Ohio).

    Rice will graduate this Sunday (May 7) with degrees in human resource management and organizational leadership and a cumulative GPA of 3.65. The Louisville, Ohio native is also a three-time MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete for her outstanding efforts on the field and in the classroom.
    The Academic All-District® teams and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the sixth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America® Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
