Kick Times Announced for Six Toledo Football Games

       Toledo, Ohio – Kickoff times for six Toledo football games were announced today, including three home games.

       The Rockets open the season at the Glass Bowl on Thursday, Aug. 31 vs. Elon at 7:00 p.m. Two weeks later, Toledo will host Tulsa on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 7:00 p.m. The start time for the Northern Illinois home game on Thursday, Nov. 2 will be 6:00 p.m., and the game will be televised nationally on either ESPNU or the CBS Sports Network.

       Kickoff times for three of Toledo's road games include a 4:00 p.m. PT (7:00 p.m. ET) start time at Nevada on Sept. 9, a 3:30 p.m. kick at Central Michigan on Oct. 14 and a 7:00 p.m. start at Ball State on Thursday, Oct. 26.

       Kickoff times for the remaining games will be announced at a later date.

       At least four games on Toledo's schedule will be carried on ESPN2, ESPNU or CBS Sports Network, with more games likely to be added later to the television docket. In addition to the NIU game in the Glass Bowl on Nov. 2, three road games will also be on national TV: at Ball State (Oct. 26), at Ohio (Nov. 8) and at Bowling Green (Nov. 15).

           Toledo, 9-4 in 2016, returns one of the nation's most explosive offenses. Led by senior quarterback Logan Woodside, Toledo averaged 38.0 points per game and led the Mid-American Conference in total offense with 517.8 yards per game. Woodside paced the nation with 45 touchdown passes. Two of his favorite targets are back—senior Cody Thompson (64 receptions, 11 TDs, 19.8 ypc) and junior Jon'Vea Johnson (40/10/19.3)—as is 2015 second-team All-MAC senior running back Terry Swanson. On defense, the Rockets return seven starters, including All-MAC senior linebacker Ja'Wuan Woodley.
