Springfield, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the field of teams and schedules for the campus round games leading up to the third-annual Hoophall Miami Invitational. Toledo is participating in this NCAA multi-team event, sponsored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, which will feature round-robin play of five teams in the two weeks leading up to the main event in Miami with Kansas and Syracuse serving as host sites.

    Toledo will host reigning Horizon League regular-season co-champion Oakland (25-9 in 2016-17) on Saturday, November 18 as well as defending Southland Conference champion Texas Southern (23-12) on Saturday, December 2. In between those contests, the Rockets will play at Atlantic Coast Conference's Orange (19-15) on Wednesday, November 22 and defending Big 12 champion Jayhawks (31-5) on Tuesday, November 28.     The Rockets are coming off a 17-17 campaign that resulted in a trip to the College Basketball Invitational. Junior guard

    The Hoophall Miami Invitational at AmericanAirlines Arena will serve as the culmination of the campus round games for Syracuse and Kansas. The one-day doubleheader held on Saturday, December 2 will feature a match-up of perennial powerhouses Syracuse and Kansas, as well as local-favorite Miami versus reigning Ivy League champion Princeton.

    The MAAC will serve as the host conference for this multi-team event anchored by Kansas and Syracuse. The MAAC has developed a strong partnership with the Basketball Hall of Fame, including the addition of a MAAC exhibit in the Hall of Fame museum in Springfield, Mass.
