Toledo Posts Runner-Up Finish at Indiana Invitational

Bloomington, Ind. – Toledo continued its strong season by placing second at the Indiana Invitational on Sunday. The runner-up finish gives the Rockets eight Top Three showings in 10 tournaments.
A trio of UT golfers finished in the Top Five on the individual leaderboard with sophomore Pinyada Kuvanun leading the way in third place at four-over par 220 (76-74-70). Kuvanun's two-under 70 tied her season low and was highlighted with an eagle on the par-four, 367-yard third hole.
Freshman Saranlak Tumfong posted her best finish of the season by tying for fifth place with Kawil. She carded the Rockets' second-best round of the day with a one-over par 73 to finish at eight-over par 224 (77-74-73). Tumfong was at even-par through 12 holes before bogeying No. 13 and No. 16. She then birdied the 17th hole to get back to one-over par.
Sophomore Pimchanok Kawil shot a three-over par 75 in the final round to finish at eight-over par 224 (74-75-75). She was at even-par through 10 holes after back-to-back birdies but then posted bogeys on Nos. 11, 15 and 18.
Rounding out the Rocket lineup were sophomores Natcha Daengpiem (20th/78-75-78=231) and Hannah Kochendoefer (45th/82-80-83=245).
A pair of freshman – Thunpijja Sukkasem (T-31st/83-79-76=238) and Donchanok Toburint (T-42nd/87-76-81=244) – also competed as individuals for Toledo.
Indiana captured the tournament title at 20-over par 884 (292-297-295) with the Hoosiers' Alix Kong earning medalist honors at two-under par 214 (70-73-71).
The Rockets will compete in their final tournament prior to the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championships when it travels to Columbus, OH for the Lady Buckeye Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, April 15-16.
