Toledo Places 11th at Lady Buckeye Invitational

Columbus, Ohio – The Toledo women's golf team posted an 11th place finish on Sunday at Ohio State's Lady Buckeye Invitational after carding an 84-over par 948 over 54 holes this weekend. The 12-team field consisted of five schools ranked in the Top 35 of Golfstat's rankings.
Michigan State captured the tournament title by one stroke over No. 23-ranked Texas as the Spartans finished at 25-over par 889 compared to the Longhorns' total of 26-over par 890. Texas' Sophia Schubert earned medalist honors at three-under par 213 (68-72-73) and was the lone golfer to finish under par.
Sophomore Pinyada Kuvanun paced the Rockets today with a five-over par 77 and finished tied for 33rd place at 18-over par 234 (80-77-77). She was followed by sophomores Natcha Daengpiem and Pimchanok Kawil who tied for 41st place and 43rd place, respectively, at 20-over par 236 (75-78-83) and 21-over par 237 (76-76-85).
Rounding out the Rocket lineup were freshman Saranlak Tumfong (T-63rd/80-84-82=246), junior Napaphan Phongpaiboon (T-63rd/81-84-81=246) and freshman Thunpijja Sukkasem (75th/82-83-90=255).
Sophomore Hannah Kochendoerfer competed as an individual and tied for 47th place at 24-over par 240 (81-78-81).
The Rockets will now prepare for the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championships in Stow, OH on Friday- Sunday, April 21-23. The 54-hole event will be hosted by Kent State University at the Silver Lake Golf Club.
