Toledo and CMU to Tangle in Three-Game Home Series

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo softball (19-25, 7-5 MAC) welcomes co-west division leader Central Michigan (24-11, 9-3 MAC) to the Glass City this weekend for a three-game series. The two MAC squads will face-off in a single game on Friday, April 14 at 3:00 p.m. before returning to Scott Park on Saturday for a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m.

    All three games can be streamed live on ESPN3, and Saturday's twinbill will be broadcast by BCSN.

TOLEDO ROCKETS
    Toledo is hitting .261 as a team and is led by senior 2B Chandler Rice with a .378 batting average. Rice has tallied 56 hits and scored 33 runs through UT's 44 games. She paces Toledo with 13 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, 30 RBI and 100 total bases. The Louisville, OH native has registered a .676 slugging percentage and .455 on-base percentage. Junior OF Ashley Rausch trails Rice with a .315 batting average, 40 hits and 28 runs scored this season.
    Sophomore RHP Heather Webb (9-8) leads the pitching staff with a 3.72 ERA through 32 appearances in the circle. She has pitched a team-high 120.1 innings, including six complete games, and has registered 79 strikeouts. Her last two appearances for the Rockets resulted in a pair of two-hit shutouts vs. Miami and Eastern Michigan.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN CHIPPEWA
    CMU enters this weekend's action with an overall record of 24-11 and a MAC-best 9-3 mark in the league. Its only losses have been to Bowling Green, 5-3, Kent State, 3-2, and Akron, 6-2.
    The Chips register a .294 batting average as a team and are led by senior OF Allison Curtis who is hitting .407 with 46 hits on the season. Curtis holds a .566 slugging percentage aided by seven doubles, four triples and one homer. In the circle, Central Michigan is led by senior Rachael Knapp who holds an impressive 1.37 ERA with 195 strikeouts in 153 innings. Knapp has pitched for 18 complete games including nine shutouts.
