Stjepan Sisko and Thawin Suksathaporn Named MAC Doubles Team of the Week

Cleveland, OH - Senior Stjepan Sisko and freshman Ernie Suksathaporn were named the Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
    "This was an incredible event and a great experience for the entire team," said head coach Al Wermer. "Stjepan and Thawin played some very solid matches and I think they adapted to outdoor play seamlessly."
    Sisko and Suksathaporn went 4-2 at No. 1 doubles last weekend at the prestigious 128^th Annual Pacific Men's Doubles Championships in La Jolla, CA. After the duo dropped their first match in the Round of 128, Sisko and Suksathaporn won four-straight matches to make the consolation semifinals. The now has an overall record of 12-6 at the top spot.
    The Rockets defeated William & Mary's Addison Appleyby and Tristan Bautil, 8-5, before downing Boston College's Kevin Mullins and Sean Mullins, 8-0. Sisko and Suksathaporn were ahead 6-4, 5-4 when their UCSD opponents retired in Round 4. They bested Mattew Fisher and Justin Steuber, 6-0, 6-4, in the quarterfinals and matched up against UC Irvine's Mason Hansen and Tyler Pham in the finals. Sisko and Suksathaporn put up a hard-fought battle vs. Hansen and Pham but eventually fell, 7-5, 6-4.
